The Opportunity:  Casual Plant Operator

Casual On-Call Plant Operator, based out of Aishihik, YT.                                                                                                                               

Who we are:  Yukon Energy is the main generator and transmitter of electrical energy in the territory. Our plant facilities are on the Traditional Territory of Yukon First Nations. There are 14 First Nations in the territory, and we are proud to work within these Traditional Territories in all our business operations.

What will you do: 

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor Plant Operators, the incumbent is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the electrical generating units, plants and their respective auxiliary equipment and may be required to provide maintenance of generating equipment. This is an on-call casual position.

What you need to succeed: 

• Knowledge at the grade 12 level plus some vocational training in light maintenance and several years of previous Plant Operations related work experience.
• Strong client service orientation.
• Knowledge of Windows based computer software applications.
• A proven track record and commitment to safe procedures and encouraging a safe work environment.
• A valid class 5 driver’s license.
• A valid First Aid certificate.
• Ability to work in a team and cross-cultural environment.

Competitive Compensation: Level 5- $29.22-$34.89 per hour.
