Standing Offer Program
The Yukon government has an Independent Power Production Policy.
The Standing Offer Program (SOP), one element of the policy, encourages the development of new, small and renewable projects. The intent of the program is to streamline the process for selling electricity to Yukon Energy Corporation on the Yukon Integrated System and to ATCO Electric Yukon in Watson Lake.
If you are interested in being an independent power producer, the first step is to meet with the Yukon Development Corporation to discuss your project and ensure you understand the process before you begin your application.
