The Winter Electrical Affordability Rebate helps Yukoners with the cost of electricity during the colder months. From October to March, residential customers receive a rebate of up to $33.77 per month on their electrical bills.
This rebate is automatically applied through the months of October to March to residential electricity customer’s bills at a rate of 3.377 cents per kilowatt hour, to a maximum of 1,000 kilowatt hours per month.
This rebate is part of the 2025-26 budget and replaces the Interim Electrical Rebate, subject to legislative approval, to provide more financial support to Yukoners. The Interim Electrical Rebate had been in place since 2009, when it replaced the Rate Stabilization Fund.
