Plant Operator, Mayo

Reporting to the Leadhand, Mechanical Maintenance, the successful applicant will work as part of the Operations group and will assist with the safe and efficient operation of the electrical generating units and plants. The work will involve regular plant checks and unit readings on plant generating and peripheral equipment and providing assistance and support to other staff as required.


Permanent and Full-time based in Mayo, Yukon.

Works in proximity to high voltage and spinning equipment. Exposure to open water and plant environment. Travel and periods of immediate stand-by coverage are requirements of this position.   • A high school diploma;
  • some vocational training and/or experience in the operation and light maintenance of power generation equipment;
  • The ability to work unsupervised with a strong commitment to working safely;
  • A valid class 5 driver’s license; and
  • Good computer and interpersonal skills.
