We are passing along the following information we received this morning from ATCO Electric Yukon:

"ATCO Electric Yukon crews responded to more than two dozen power outage calls Tuesday night and Wednesday morning as strong winds caused multiple trees to fall on ATCO Electric Yukon-owned power lines in Whitehorse and communities south of the city. Power was restored to the majority of customers by midnight. Crews are still working to restore power in one power outage that is affecting customers on Gentian Lane."

Note that yesterday morning's outage was caused by a tree on one of Yukon Energy's transmission lines north of Whitehorse.

It has been an incredibly busy time for crews from both companies and we appreciate your patience as we work together to safely restore power.

If you see any knocked-down power lines or trees on lines, please contact the utility from which you receive your power bill. Do not attempt to remove the trees from the power lines, as the line could still be energized and thus extremely dangerous.
