Good news! This afternoon we were able to re-energize the transmission line between Carmacks and Faro. That means all customers in Faro and Ross River have been taken off diesel backup and are being supplied with power from our grid.
The two communities have been on diesel since July 20th, when a forest fire forced us to de-energize the line. Before we could return it to service, we needed to replace some damaged poles and have hundreds of unstable trees removed that were adjacent to our right-of-way. That work is now complete.
