Close to 200 salmon arrived at the Whitehorse fishladder today! The colourful and decorative fish are part of a community art and education project offered through the B.C.-based group Stream of Dreams, and organized by the Yukon Salmon Sub-committee with support from Yukon Energy.

Over the past week-end, visitors to the Adaka Cultural Festival in Whitehorse were invited to learn about their local watersheds, stream protection, and preservation of salmon. They could then paint a piece of wood cut in the shape of a salmon.

Today, all those fish were transported to the Whitehorse fishladder where they were installed. We encourage you to visit the ladder and decide which fish is your favourite.

Thanks to the installaltion team, to Stream of Dreams, and to the Yukon Salmon Sub-committee for making this happen.
