With our bountiful supply of fresh, clean water, Yukoners can count ourselves among the luckiest people in the world. Here at Yukon Energy, we rely on water for 99 percent of the electricity we generate to power your homes and businesses.
To help celebrate the territory's water supply, we are participating in Canada Water Week (March 19th to 23rd). Canada Water Week is an opportunity to learn about the good work being done around Yukon and beyond on water protection, use and management.
On Thursday the 22nd we are offering free tours of our Whitehorse hydro facilities. If you've always wondered how power gets produced here in the territory, now's your chance to find out firsthand.
We'll offer one tour at 10 a.m., and if there's demand, we'll give a second one at 1 p.m. The tours are limited to 20 people each.
If you are interested, please contact us no later than Wednesday, March 21st at 4 p.m. by calling 393-5333 or emailing communications@yukonenergy.ca. Children must be at least seven years old to participate in a tour.
