Getting connected

If you need new electricity service for your residential, multi-residential or commercial properties, fill out the form below. Keep in mind that new connections can take several weeks or even months, so it’s best to request service early in your planning process.

Charges and fees

The cost of electricity service depends on several factors, such as how much power you need and how far the line must be extended to your home or business. A Yukon Energy representative will give you an estimate based on your specific situation. Payment plan options may also be available.

It depends on your location. A new or upgraded connection can take a few weeks or even months.

Can I choose where the power pole goes on my property?

We’ll do our best to accommodate your preference, but there are safety and technical rules we need to follow. Sometimes, your request may not be possible.

Why am I being asked to pay more for my power hook-up than my neighbour was charged?

Every situation is different. Costs depend on how much power you need, how far the line must go, and even current material prices.

Can I provide my own power poles?

No. For safety reasons, only Yukon Energy-approved poles and materials can be used.

What is a demand meter and why do I need one?

If you're a commercial customer, we track your power use with a demand meter. This helps us make sure we have enough power available during peak times and allows us to bill you accurately.
