Yukon Energy has undertaken many studies on the potential impacts of this project on wildlife, wetlands, shorelines and sub-surface structures.
On April 4, 2022, the Yukon Water Board approved our application to temporarily lower Marsh Lake up to 10 cm lower than normally permitted under our Whitehorse water use licence. We made this request following a second year of higher-than-normal snowpack levels in the Southern Lakes region, and as one more way for us to help mitiate the potential for summer flooding. A condition of the Water Board's approval of our request was the completion of regular field monitoring during times when lake levels were lower than typically allowed, and over the course of summer 2022. The following are those monitoring reports.
