The team working on the Takhini Whistlebend project reached a major milestone last night. They safely tied together the Aishihik to Whitehorse transmission line through the newly upgraded portion of our Takhini substation, which is located on the Mayo Road near Whitehorse.
There is still more work to do, but when this project is complete later this year, it will provide for the additional supply requirements of the Whistlebend subdivision and will provide improvements to our transmission system's reliability. This has been one of Yukon Energy’s major projects over the last two years, with a capital budget of $12-million.
Here are a few photos from last evening.

While our staff take their jobs very seriously, there is always room in the day for a bit of humour.
