Director, People & Culture

Reporting to the President & CEO and a key member of Senior Management, the Director, People & Culture will be accountable for renewing and developing a human resources strategy that supports Yukon Energy’s overall vision and growth plan.

In this newly created position, the Director, People & Culture provides strategic and operational leadership and direction for the organization’s human resource services, programs, and policies. They will lead the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the services, programs and policies for employee recruitment, onboarding and orientation, retention, coaching and performance management. They will also lead the planning and implementation of employee and labour relations, compensation and benefits, employment related legislative and regulatory compliance, and employee engagement and communications.

YOU'RE PERFECT FOR THE JOB, IF:

The ideal candidate is an experienced HR leader from a complex, unionized environment where their mandate encompassed both tactical and strategic components. In this capacity, they would have led teams, assisted in the development of progressive talent management programs and supported business leaders in achieving ambitious corporate objectives. With a sound understanding of unionized labour relations and the collective bargaining process and equipped with excellent consultative and consensus-building skills, the ideal candidate will be able to secure agreement to sometimes difficult concepts, approaches, policies and programs. As an HR leader, the successful candidate will be able to embed innovative strategies for employee engagement, rewards and recognition and culture development across the organization.
