The Opportunity: Casual Plant Operator
Casual On-Call Plant Operator, based out of Whitehorse, YT.
Compensation: $30.10-$35.94 per hour.
Who we are: Yukon Energy is the main generator and transmitter of electrical energy in the territory. Our plant facilities are on the Traditional Territory of Yukon First Nations. There are 14 First Nations in the territory, and we are proud to work within these Traditional Territories in all our business operations.
What will you do:
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor Plant Operators, the incumbent is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the electrical generating units, plants and their respective auxiliary equipment and may be required to provide maintenance of generating equipment. This is an on-call casual position.
What you need to succeed:
Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position, applicants should be at least 19 years of age. Candidates under 19 may be considered based on relevant experience, training, or demonstrated ability to meet safety requirements.
