The Opportunity: Supervisor, OT and Automation

Who we are: Yukon Energy is the primary generator and transmitter of electrical energy in the Yukon territory, operating within the Traditional Territories of Yukon First Nations. What will you do: Reporting to the Director, Electrical Operations, you will:
- Oversee and optimize SCADA, network infrastructure, communication devices, and automation systems that support safe and reliable energy operations across the Yukon.
- Ensure the security, integration, and compliance of operational technology systems across the Yukon Integrated System (YIS), with a focus on reliability and efficiency.
- Work closely with departments across Yukon Energy and external contractors to modernize OT systems and implement automation strategies that improve overall system performance.
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications such as:
- Certified SCADA Security Architect (CSSA)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- CompTIA Network+
- Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA)
- NERC System Operator Certification
- 5+ years of experience in operational technology, automation systems, or a related field.
- In-depth understanding of cybersecurity for OT systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure communications.
- Familiarity with industry standards and security frameworks (e.g., NERC CIP, IEC 62443).
- Proficiency in automation technologies, including PLCs, RTUs, and smart grid applications.
- Experience working for a power utility company and understanding of fully integrated power systems, including SCADA control systems.
- A valid class 5 driver’s license is required.

Compensation: Level 10: $54.13/hr-$64.64/hr PLUS Northern Allowance
