The Yukon government, through the Yukon Development Corporation, has provided Yukon Energy with funding to plan for improvements to the transmission infrastructure in Central Yukon between Stewart Crossing and Keno City. This money has resulted in a shovel-ready project.
The section of the transmission line between Mayo and Keno City is more than 65 years old and must be replaced. As well, the entire line between Stewart Crossing and Keno City must be upgraded so that it can serve larger loads than is currently possible.
