Powerline Technician - Mayo

Powerline Technician Mayo – Working as part of the Transmission and Distribution team in Mayo, apply your skills on the structures and assets of Yukon Energy’s transmission and distribution lines to bring safe and reliable electricity to our cutomers.


Yukon Energy is the main generator and transmitter of electrical energy in the territory. We are a renewable company with 94% of our electricity coming from hydro and we were the first northern utility and only the fifth in Canada to receive a Sustainable Electricity CompanyTM designation from the Canadian Electricity Association.  


Permanent, full-time and based in Mayo Yukon. You’ll have Journey level Powerline Technician certification and several years of experience with overhead transmission and distribution systems. Rigging and hoisting certification; minimum of two years’ experience operating equipment; and a class 3 driver’s license are also required.


Yukon is a perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts and for raising a family. Mayo, located at the confluence of the Mayo and Stewart rivers, is approximately 400 km north of Whitehorse. Wilderness adventures start right on your doorstep with canoeing, hiking and fishing opportunities available in the beautiful Peel River Watershed. Multiple daily flights out of Whitehorse will get you to Vancouver in two hours and Edmonton or Calgary in less than three hours on scheduled days.
