Plant Operator: 1-Year Term

The Plant Operator participates as a member of the Hydro Maintenance team and is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the electrical generating units, plants, and their respective auxiliary equipment. This position works as the operating authority when on duty. This position also works a rotating shift that may require working on weekends and statutory holidays as well as periods of stand-by coverage.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Knowledge at the grade 12 level plus some vocational training in mechanical maintenance and operation of heavy equipment and several years of previous related work experience.
• A proven track record and commitment to safe procedures and encouraging a safe work environment.
• Solid knowledge of Windows based computer software applications.
• A valid Yukon class 5 Driver’s License.
• A valid First Aid certificate.

Competitive Compensation: $36.37 - $43.43 (plus allowances)
