Why Are You Burning Diesel?

Question: I noticed that your energy consumption chart is showing that you are burning deisel. Why are you doing that in the summertime?

Because of the forest fire in the Carmacks area, we have been asked by Wildland Fire Management to de-energize our transmission line that runs between Faro and Carmacks. That means we are serving Faro and Ross River with diesel. As soon as we are given the go-ahead, we will do some necessary repairs on that line (we know the fire has damaged some of our structures) and get Faro and Ross River back onto grid power.
