According to the weather forecast, this Saturday (May 9th) is expected to be a glorious day; perfect for getting outside and enjoying some of the territory's many species of birds. Yukon Energy is sponsoring a special event that day at the McIntyre Marsh Bird Banding Station, located at the gazebo where the Fish Lake Road and Copper Haul Road in Whitehorse intersect. The station is operated by the Society of Yukon Bird Observatories. Volunteers with that group and with Yukon  Energy will be there between 7 a.m. and noon to celebrate International Migratory Bird Day. There'll be a number of special events for the whole family, including a bird species treasure hunt with prizes and a special activity for kids.

Visit the Yukon Bird Observatories website for details.
