It's happened in Yukon before and it's happening again. A number of Yukon residents have received telephone solicitations recently from someone claiming to be with the federal government. Customers are invited to purchase an energy saving device that the telemarketer says can reduce power bills by $30-40 a month.
We have been notified that this is a scam. If you receive a call of this nature, we advise you not provide any credit card or other financial information.
